Hello there! I’m back to the land of the living! Whew! I certainly didn’t intend to virtually disappear two weeks in a row. In the last two weeks we had a semi-last minute weekend visit from my sisters and brother-in-law, surprise classes that took up any spare time {what is spare time?}, a few family events, and then I crashed and burned and got sick. I made the mistake of saying out loud how I haven’t been sick in such a long time. I kid you not, not 24 hours later, I was burning up with a fever and sneezing my little heart out. Boo.
We’re busier than ever around these parts, but I’m so happy to be on the mend and back to blogging. I love it so much and hate when I have to take a break from this space. In the spirit of easing back in, I thought I’d share some more of my favorite beauty items with you all today. I’m a product junkie {although, I’m trying to slow down on that a bit}, so I’m always up for trying to new things and letting you know what I loved most. Here are four of my current favorites.
I have gone from using a whole slew of chemical laden skin care products to using just a few all natural items. {here is a good post on one way to approach natural skin care}.
One item that I’ve added to my skin care routine is Young Living’s Frankincense Essential Oil. I have noticed such a difference in my skin since adding this to my routine. I add 1-2 drops into my moisturizer in the morning and evening. Since I started using Frank on a daily basis, my skin is softer, smoother, and brighter. I have less fine lines and I am seeing less scarring. You can also add a drop straight to a blemish to zap that puppy away. It’s good stuff! Frankincense has many other health benefits besides giving you beautiful skin!
2) Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush
This blush is actually bouncy! It has a very different texture from any other cream blush I’ve ever tried. It’s almost like modeling clay. The container is very small, but it lasts a long time. You don’t need much, and it blend really well. It gives you a very natural look. And comes in a ton of colors!
3) Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum
I am in love with this stuff. My sister {a Paul Mitchell Future Professional} introduced me to this amazing product. I have a ton of hair…a ton…and it has a mind of its own. There were some sad hair years in junior high where the frizz was out of control. My thick hair also holds onto water so it takes eleventy years to blow dry my hair every day. The Super Skinny Serum is a light weight silicone product that smooths your hair. It makes it so much more manageable, gets rid of the frizz, and makes your hair look shiny and healthy. It also helps speed up your drying time {holla!}. You don’t need very much at all. I use it every day and I’m on the same bottle I got at the end of October.
There is also a coordinating shampoo & conditioner that is great. You only need to use that maybe once a week, otherwise it will start to weigh your hair down.
Twice is my new favorite obsession. It’s an online second hand shop, but with the junk filtered out. Twice only carries high end brands in great condition. I’m cheap and have always been a Target clearance girl, but I’ve gotten to the point where I’m tired of buying poor quality clothes. I’m not really saving money if the clothes I buy are damaged or shrunk after one wear.
